Brandon is a fifth year student at the Beedie School of Business, concentrating in Accounting. Upon graduation, he will be pursuing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Brandon’s passion for helping the community stems from his early volunteer work with the Downtown Eastside and being a Camp Leader for Victory Sports, a non-profit youth sports camp. Within SFU and the local community, Brandon has been involved with many different initiatives such as being a Teaching Assistant, Peer Mentor for first year SFU students, a Team Lead Consultant during the 2015-2016 term and his current position as the 2016-2017 Program Manager of Axis Consulting. Brandon is excited to apply his classroom knowledge and previous consulting experience to help organizations grow and create a larger impact in the community.
Vinay is a fourth year student at the Beedie School of Business, concentrating in Finance, Marketing and Management Information Systems. Upon graduation, Vinay hopes to pursue his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and work in the financial industry. He has always valued the idea of helping the community with the experiences and skills developed from his education. Currently, Vinay is part of the 25tolife joint project which is a class of 36 students working alongside the Canadian Cancer Society to raise over $30,000 for cancer research. Outside of SFU, he is involved in one of the largest cultural non-profit organizations where he helps organize various events to preserve and promote the Gujarati culture. Vinay is passionate to continue his community involvement by working alongside the Axis Consulting team and helping the local non-profit organizations with their goals.
Deep is passionate third year student concentrating in Human Resources. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue her CHRP designation and improve employment conditions within her workplace. Born on Vancouver Island and having moved to the city in 2009, Deep has always valued working with diverse groups of people. She has always been heavily involved in her community, as she believes that giving back to those in need is one of the many ways to live a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Team Lead Consultant
Aria is a fourth year student at the Beedie School of Business concentrating in Finance, Management Information Systems and Operations Management, while pursuing the Business Analytics and Decision Making Certificate. Upon graduation, Aria hopes to pursue a career in management consulting so Axis allows him to gain consulting experience while combining his strong analytical skills with his passion for helping others to make a positive impact on non-profit organizations. Within SFU and the local community, Aria is a strong role model for students by being a Teaching Assistant for a course specifically designed for first year students, by being a Beedie Ambassador and representating Beedie at a variety of events and also volunteering his time by being a coach for a youth boys soccer team. Aria is excited to work with numerous non-profit organizations as a Team Lead for Axis this year, helping them to continue to make a positive impact on the community around them.
Griffin is a third year student at the Beedie School of Business studying accounting and marketing. Upon graduation, Griffin hopes to pursue his CPA designation and explore a career in consulting. Outside of academics Griffin works in recruitment and enjoys giving back to his community through volunteering.
He focuses his volunteer efforts on youth sports involvement as he believes that athletics are important for developing life skills. As an avid outdoors man, you can often find Griffin hiking, mountain biking, or snowboarding in the local North Shore mountains. Griffin is looking forward to making a positive impact in his community by helping to develop local non-profit organizations.
Team Lead Consultant
Driven and eager to learn, Stefanie is a second year Beedie student, intending to concentrate in Finance, MIS and Marketing, while pursuing the Business Analytics and Decision Making, and the Corporate Environmental and Social Sustainability certificates. Passionate about community, she volunteers in diverse environments, whether it be teaching low-income mothers about nutrition and budgeting, organizing a City Council Syrian Refugee Youth Task Force, working as a nationally certified figure skating coach, or leading organizations both locally and as far as Granby, Quebec and Nakuru, Kenya. An aspiring consultant, she has showcased her work ethic and competitive nature through multiple 1st place results in case competitions, while also placing 1st at the Enactus National Exposition for Financial Literacy – the first ever in Enactus Simon Fraser University’s history. She looks forward to continue utilizing her analytical and technical skills, while positively impacting non-profit organizations in the community as a Team Lead for Axis Consulting this year.
Megan is a driven and hardworking student at the Beedie School of Business, concentrating in Human Resources and Management Information Systems. After graduation, she sees herself in a successful career in human capital consulting. Axis Consulting is a great opportunity for her to gain consulting skills and knowledge while giving back to the community. Megan has a passion for helping others and her experiences have brought her to the Bronx, New York City where she supported at risk youth with education and activities. Within her community, she has been a camp leader for children’s sport camps along with one-on-one camps with disabled youth at her local community center. She is looking forward to working alongside the talented and ambitious 2016-2017 Axis team to make an impact for non-profit organizations.
Sarah Jo is a second year student at the Beedie School of Business, pursuing to concentrate in Accounting and Human Resources. With a passion for new ventures, Sarah is always looking for opportunities to make a positive impact in her community, on both local and global scales. Her passion for the community built a foundation to harness opportunities and to explore areas of interest, one of which includes Axis Consulting. By applying technical skills learned in classrooms to inspire positive change, Sarah hopes that she, along with her fellow team will not only bring home but also extend a myriad of new skills and relationships in the community. If you ever see Sarah around, don’t be afraid to spark a conversation!
Meek is a third year student at the Beedie School of Business, interested in Management Information Systems and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Having studied Engineering prior to being at Simon Fraser University, he has a passion for developing an improved society for those less fortunate, through realms of action and modernization. Through Enactus at SFU, Meek aspires to connect with like-minded individuals who aim to better the lives of others through creative and logical processes. Alongside the 2016-2017 team at Axis, Meek looks to assist non-profits in growth and development within the greater Vancouver area. Furthermore, Meek has a passion for travelling, learning, and experiencing the different cultures and modernities of the world and he is excited to see how new initiatives support the development of the global community.
Lauren is in her fifth year of pursuing a Communications Major and International Studies Minor at SFU. Specializing in security and conflict studies, Lauren’s aspirations are to travel while making the world a better place. In 2015, she worked closely with a handful of NGOs as she spent several months completing an internship with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in Greece. In an effort to continue this work, Lauren joined the team at Axis, who shares her aspirations. In her past time Lauren enjoys both playing and coaching team sports.
Zahra is in her final year at SFU, pursuing a concentration in Human Resource Management, Operations Management as well as a Minor in Health Science. Throughout her undergrad, she has dedicated her time in taking on various leadership roles in Enactus and the Human Resources Students’ Association as a Project Manager. She enjoys taking on different initiatives and has been able to work on various project teams through co-op terms in the healthcare IT industry. She is excited to see how technology will continue to make vast improvements in business and healthcare settings. After graduation, Zahra plans to pursue a career in HR consulting in Vancouver. This year she looks forward to working with the Axis Consulting Team in helping improve non-profit organizations across the lower mainland to make a bigger impact.
Trevor is a fourth year at the Beedie School of Business. Concentrating in Management Information Systems, he aims to travel around the world and practice tech management once he has completed his Bachelors. Trevor has a strong passion for supporting not-for-profit organizations which he believes represent the backbone of many communities. He has spent much of his time dedicated to supporting the Canadian Cancer Society. Through Axis consulting, Trevor has been able to apply his skills to create a much larger impact in the community with many more Not-for Profits. Outside of SFU and Axis Consulting, Trevor can be found pursuing his passion for sports with the 2017 JDC Athletics team.
Lili is a third year business student at Beedie School of Business. She is planning to concentrate in Management Information Systems, and Finance, with a Minor in Economics. Apart from her academics Lili has a passion for travelling, she’s traveled to 12 countries in the last 3 years and plans to travel to more. Currently, Lili successfully dedicates her time to extra- circular activities such as Axis Consulting, a pro-bono consulting service to organizations in need, as well as SEEDS, a business start up development program supporting the development of entrepreneurs.
Emily is currently a second year business student studying at Beedie School of Business. She cares deeply about sustainable choices and community development. Within the Beedie community, she is involved with the Simon Fraser Business Administration Student Society (“BASS”), and the Social Media Networking Club (“SMN”). At BASS, she oversees administrative tasks, student-life initiatives, and was elected to represent Beedie students in the Simon Fraser Student Society. At SMN, she oversees all marketing and corporate relations activities. Aside from community work, Emily likes to take her time to travel. Having traveled to over 25 countries, she likes to recreate her cultural learning experiences in her own kitchen and explore the literary canons related to the society she visits.
Darren is a third year student at the Beedie School of Business, intending to concentrate in Finance and Management Information Systems. Upon graduation, Darren hopes to pursue a career in financial consulting. Darren has a strong passion for helping other, he has been involved in his community as a peer tutor and sports camp assistant at his local recreation center. Outside of school, he is an avid sports fan and loves to stay active. Darren is excited to be a part of the Axis team and is looking forward to helping non-profits have a larger impact in the community.
